Itinerary
Day 1: Helsinki - Kotka
Morning departure from Helsinki. Upon early evening arrival in Kotka enjoy a 3-hour land excursion. On this tour, the guide will take you to the era of the Czars and Catherine the Great in Kotka. You will visit the Imperial Fishing Lodge situated at Langinkoski, built for Alexander III and his family in 1889. You will also learn about the life style of the Imperial family in the 19th century. You will visit the Kotkansaari fortress community and the Greek-Orthodox Church of St. Nicholas. The tour is completed by a visit to the Kotka Maretarium. Overnight onboard ship.
Day 2: Lappeenranta - Savonlinna
Upon morning arrival enjoy a walking tour of Lappeenranta, founded in 1649, with its oldest part being the fortress. The Orthodox Church and most of the old buildings date back to the Russian era. The Fortress has evolved into a popular year-round attraction. On this guided tour you will discover the colorful history and lively present-day life of the Fortress. Continue for an evening arrival in Savonlinna. Overnight onboard ship.
Day 3: Savonlinna - Puumala - Lappeenranta
Enjoy a 1.5 hours tour of Olavinlinna castle, the medieval fortress standing in the middle of the swiftly-flowing straits of Kyrönsalmi. Finland. During its eventful history, Olavinlinna has witnessed many battles, and intriguing tales about the castle have lived on until the present day. After the guided tour in the castle return to the harbor. Enjoy the beautiful scenery while you cruise along the scenic lake land toward Puumala and Lappeenranta. Overnight onboard ship.
Day 4: Kotka - Helsinki
Depart Kotka along the southern coastline on your way back to Helsinki. Tour ends upon arrival in Helsinki.
