SummerPalace.jpg Majestic palaces, extravagant mansions and richly decorated cathedrals, create a regal ambience all around St. Petersburg, one of the most beautiful cities in the world. A multilingual Finnish tour leader will accompany you throughout the tour, which introduces the main sights of the city in four days.

Day 1: Helsinki - St. Petersburg
Enjoy an early morning breakfast after boarding the Finnish Sibelius train from Helsinki to St. Petersburg. When arriving in the “Venice of the North”, go on an orientation tour to the Bronze Horseman, the Admiralty, Nevski Prospekt and the Palace Square. The city architects gave colors an essential role, and this magnificent Russian city owes much of its special atmosphere to these painted facades. Peter the Great founded the city as he laid the foundation of the first fortress on an islet in 1703. This island – the Peter-and-PaulFortress – is the chief monument to its founder’s reign. Dinner and overnight at tourist class Hotel Moskva or similar in St. Petersburg.

Day 2: St. Petersburg
The day begins with an excursion to the Hermitage, established in 1764 when Catherine II bought paintings made by famous Dutch masters. The Hermitage collection contains over 2.4 million pieces of art, and offers special highlights such as Leonardos, Raphaels and Titans. After lunch at a local restaurant, visit the third largest Cathedral in the world – the Cathedral of St. Isaac. A French architect, Auguste Montferrand, designed this cathedral and construction took 40 years, from 1818 to 1858. Dinner and overnight at tourist-class Hotel Moskva or similar.

Day 3: St. Petersburg
In 1708, Peter I gave his wife Catherine Aleksejevna an estate in the outskirts of St. Petersburg. The most famous architects and craftsmen of the time developed Zarskoje Selo (later Pushkin) - the summer residence of the Russian Czars for two centuries - into one of the most magnificent and richest residences in Europe. Enjoy lunch in a local restaurant and then transfer to the city center. Afternoon free to explore and walk in this beautiful city. Dinner and overnight at tourist-class Hotel Moskva or similar.

Day 4: St. Petersburg - Helsinki
Spend your last morning at your leisure. After lunch at the hotel, transfer to the railway station for an afternoon departure for a late evening arrival in Helsinki.
