Day 1: Reykjavik Arrive Keflavik Airport, pick up your car and drive to Reykjavik for overnight. This northernmost capital of the world, is a buzzing cultural city where cosmopolitan currents meet traditional trends. Overnight at Baron Hotel or similar.
Day 2: Reykjavik – Sauoarkrokur Drive north to Skagafjörður, the valley of the horses, the countless hills at Vatnsdalsholar and the torf farm at Glaumbær. Overnight at Hotel Aning.
Day 3: Sauoarkrokur - Lake Myvatn Area Visit Akureyri, the capital of North Iceland, and Goðafoss – the waterfall of the Gods. Spend the day in the Lake Mývatn area, home to some of Iceland’s greatest natural treasures. Mývatn is one of Iceland’s most beautiful lakes, and a facinating geological area. Overnight at Hotel Laugar.
Day 4: Lake Myvatn Area – Egilsstaðir Explore the natural wonders of Lake Myvatn, the hot springs at Namaskarð, and the lava fields at Krafla before driving on to East Iceland. Overnight at Gistihusid Hotel.
Day 5: Egilsstaðir – Höfn Enjoy the dramatic fjord landscape and fishing villages of the East Fjords before reaching Vatnajökull, Europe’s largest glacier. Overnight at Vatnajökull Hotel.
Day 6: Höfn – Hella A long drive with many natural wonders awaits you today as you pass a glacier lagoon, Skaftafell National Park, many waterfalls, black lava beaches and rugged lava fields. Overnight at Ranga Hotel.
Day 7: Hella - Grindavik Visit Gullfoss Waterfall, Geysir Hot Springs, and Thingvellir National Park. Overnight at Northern Lights Inn.
Day 8: Reykjavik Enjoy a relaxing visit to the Blue Lagoon this day, before your late afternoon flight departure.
